I think I’m ready for a dog… I want to be a nurse practitioner….

Lol.. I know I keep changing my mind.. But school nursing has made me appreciate the clinic/acute care setting. I have a stable schedule, my patients (students) are walking and healthy. I manage chronic conditions (mostly asthma, a few diabetics, seizure pts.)

I’m getting my application together to apply for FNP to start in fall 2015. I am debating if I should stay in the school setting or apply for a clinic job… I am aiming towards clinic job.

My 25th birthday is tomorrow!!

Yay! I have been busy with work and getting adjusted but I haven’t forgotten about my tumblr.

Being a school nurse is very much enjoyable. I am at a middle school that has around 840 kids- majority hispanic and black (not quite sure if it would be defined as inner city?)

I am enjoying the hours, the interaction with staff, alone time in my office, and making my own decisions (back to class, rest, go home). The kids are very independent so my diabetic student checks her own blood sugar, some kids carry their own asthma inhalers, etc.

I have spent this past week helping with enrollment and charting the new student’s immunizations, as well as sending kids back to class, lol.

I think I am now adjusted to working days. I would like to find a PRN position for Saturdays/ a few times a month/summers. I don’t miss working night shift much or the hospital.

I’m hoping to start graduate school in Spring 2015- pursuing my master’s in counseling. I also now have a regular set schedule so guess what I’ve been doing!? WORKING OUT!! I’ve missed it. Trying to lose a few lbs.

I am now getting ready for a surprise date now. I hope everyone is doing great!! and I love my apartment! Its bigger than the one I had and I have an actual study room with my desk. CABLE & INTERNET GET INSTALLED ON TUESDAY!!!!

The day has finally come!!!

There isn’t one cookie-cutter job/marriage/family pattern for you to follow. Your path can be completely different than anyone else’s, but that doesn’t make it any less valid. ^^

Did you ever realize how much your body loves you? I mean its always trying to keep you alive. That’s all your body has to live for. Your body is making sure you breathe while you sleep, stopping cuts from bleeding, fixing broken bones, finding ways to beat the illnesses that might get you. Your body literally loves you so much. It’s time you start loving your body back.
